Deployment Options

License EDGE, let us host it, or use EDGE in a SaaS model

Jagged Peak has a wealth of experience when it comes to working with clients using all the popular deployment models. We work with clients to link our EDGE software to everything from desktop tools, POS solutions, and warehouse management and carrier systems to enterprise applications, giving them complete visibility to their entire supply chain. In addition to our appliance model, companies can opt to access EDGE software in a managed services model or in a more comprehensive software-as-a-service (SaaS) model.

Appliance Model

With the appliance model, you license the EDGE software application and manage the hardware in your own facility. Jagged Peak will be responsible for specifying the hardware necessary to run EDGE efficiently.

Managed Services Model

Clients using this model license EDGE software but locate hardware they own in Jagged Peak facilities. Jagged Peak loads the software and keeps your servers up and running. We’ll also perform standard IT procedures, such as regular systems backups, and recommend hardware and install upgrades when we see you need them. In essence, you own the hardware and license the software, and we take care of making sure your system is up and running, available for you to use.

Software as a Service Model

SaaS has become an increasingly popular model because it is economical—using shared resources is less expensive than maintaining a dedicated staff. It’s often faster to deploy as well since you don’t have to deal with any of the hardware acquisition issues. Companies incur period expenses rather than justifying capital expenditures, and they don’t have to manage hardware selection and installation processes. SaaS is a highly scalable model that lets you add users as your business grows, so you match IT costs to your business growth.

When you use the SaaS model, Jagged Peak maintains your EDGE production software, implementing any upgrade or patches as soon as they are developed. We buy and maintain computer hardware, network systems, and the integration software you need, taking responsibility for high availability and system performance. We also take care of system backups, implement disaster recovery plans, and administer password and security features.
